Abstract

Lack of mother's knowledge about the nutrition of children under two years has an impact on the psychological ability, and intelligence of children, and affects the decline in child productivity. This study aims to determine the effect of information sources on mothers' knowledge about balanced nutrition in Bendo Village. The time of research was carried out in February and June 2022 in Bendo Village, Pare District by distributing a multiple choice questionnaire of 10 questions. The population is all mothers who have to total of 87 respondents with a sample of 72 respondents. The results showed that of the 40 respondents who received information from the Puskesmas or Posyandu the most had good knowledge, namely 55.6%, radio/internet was 31.9%, counseling was 4.2%, and had sufficient knowledge who received information from Puskesmas/Posyandu was 4.2%, counseling by 1.4%. From the results of the research carried out, there was no influence of the source of information on the mother's knowledge about balanced nutrition for children. The results of this study can be used as additional knowledge about balanced nutrition for children in an effort to improve public health.
